NORWICH City legend Ruel Fox is relishing the prospect of returning to Carrow Road for Saturday's visit of Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League (3pm).

The Hall of Fame member graduated from City's youth team to make over 200 senior appearances between 1986 and 1994, scoring 25 times before embarking on an 18-month stint at Newcastle United.

Fox, who will be introduced to the crowd ahead of kick-off, exclusively told canaries.co.uk: "I'm looking forward to coming back because the last game I saw at Carrow Road was about two seasons ago.

"I've got good memories from my time at Norwich. After all, it was the club that gave me the chance so I really appreciate that and it will always be close to my heart.

"It's the kind of place that feels like home. Games like this re-jog my memory even more, having played for both clubs, so it's going to bring back some happy memories.

"It will be good to get back and have a look at the current team as it's been a while for me."

The 48-year-old, who remains involved in football with amateur club Whitton in his native Suffolk, is expecting a tight contest when his former sides meet this weekend.

"It's a big game, but the home fans should make the place a fortress," added the immensely popular fleet-footed winger of yesteryear.

"Norwich playing how they did against West Brom means they should be in high spirits. They just need to start well and get the first goal.

"Alex Neil has made a significant impact on the team and he knows what they need to do to stay up."
