Dean Smith is pleased to have almost a full squad to work with once again following the return of some players who missed out against Swansea City last weekend.
The head coach, speaking at his press conference ahead of the Blackburn Rovers fixture, said that the squad is 'as good as we've been' in terms of numbers available this year.
"I think there's only Sam Byram, Lungi and Jonny Rowe who are out. Everybody else has trained some bit this week," Smith said.
"Todd has trained all week, he's ready to go. It might be a bit soon for some others."
Marcelino Núñez and Aaron Ramsey are among the others mentioned by Smith but all have trained in some capacity this week.
He also mentioned how positive it is to have greater competition for places in the team again, with special mention for the left-back position currently being contested by Dimi Giannoulis and Sam McCallum.
Smith also reserved praise for midfielder Liam Gibbs who turns 20 today.
"It's nice to have fit left-backs. It's good for me because I've got two players competing. Then, I've got Andy who is back pushing Grant and Ben. I've got Adam Idah pushing Sarge and Teemu.
"I’ve been really pleased with Liam. He has not let us down and he still has a lot of development to go," he added.
"I feel that he's competing for a place in midfield, such is the quality he possesses. A good range of passing and can switch play, good legs on him, can cover ground quickly."
On Blackburn, Smith outlined the attacking threat that they possess.
A shock heavy defeat at home to Preston last week will also be fresh in the minds of Jon Dahl Tomasson and his players.
"They've got the likes of Brereton Diaz, Dack's back fit now too, and Gallagher, so they're certainly dangerous," he said.
"They've lost two big derbies, away to Burnley and last week at home to Preston.
"They’ve won more games than us and lost more than us. They match teams up, so it will be interesting to see what they do tomorrow."
