Canaries make fifth January addition

NORWICH City have completed the signing of forward Steven Naismith from Everton on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 41-time capped Scotland international becomes the fifth player to link up with the Canaries on a permanent basis so far this month, following the signings of Matt Jarvis, Ivo Pinto, Timm Klose and future prospect Ben Godfrey.

Naismith began his career at Kilmarnock, making over a century of league appearances for the club before moving to Rangers in August 2007.

While with the Gers, he collected three Scottish Premier League titles and two Scottish Cups ahead of joining Everton in the summer of 2012.

He went on to feature in excess of 100 times for the Toffees in the Barclays Premier League, netting 18 times, including a memorable hat-trick against champions Chelsea earlier this season.

Having completed his move to City, the 29-year-old exclusively told "I'm very happy to have signed because now I can concentrate on the football side of things.

"Norwich have displayed class in the way they've done their business all the way through. They've shown how much they wanted me, which is great, and I'm delighted to be here."

After finalising the signing of Naismith, Canaries boss Alex Neil added: "We are delighted to conclude this deal and bring Steven to the Club.

"He's a proven performer at Premier League level and an established international with Scotland so arrives with excellent pedigree."
