ALEX Neil has no concerns about a potential rise in expectations after Norwich City's positive start the 2015-16 campaign.

While admitting some onlookers may expect more from his team on the back of their promising form, the Canaries' manager says he's happy for his players' objectives to stay high.

City are looking to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to four at West Ham United this Saturday (3pm).

"I don't think I have to manage the ambition of the players, that's more outwith," he told Norwich City TV.

"I was reading something the other day and it was saying that people were expecting us to go and beat Liverpool.

"It shows how far we've come when people are expecting us to do that. We gave a good account of ourselves and could have won the game.

"I think it's about being realistic about where we are at the moment though, and where we're trying to get to."

This weekend's opposition have hit the headlines in the early stages of the campaign with eyecatching away wins over Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Slaven Bilic's side are currently third in the Premier League, with Neil adding: "They've been doing great, particularly against three of the bigger teams.

"They're going to be a difficult proposition. They've got good pace and quality at the top end of the pitch.

"We're certainly going to have to be at our best defensively to make sure we can try and cope with that."

Wednesday's Capital One Cup win over West Bromwich Albion saw City keep their first cleansheet of the season but Neil is prioritising victories over shutouts.

"Points are the most important thing. I'd take a 3-2 win any day over a 0-0. We just want to win as many games as we can," he explained.

"If we can keep cleansheets along the way, then great. If we need to score more than one goal because we've conceded, then that's the way it's got to be at times."
