Norwich City stepped up their pre-season efforts with a 2-0 win over ten-man MSV Duisburg on Wednesday evening.
City had the best of the early exchanges, Mario Vrancic being denied by a fine save after lining up a shot from outside the area while Josh Murphy also threatened twice.
On 27 minutes, the lively Nelson Oliveira broke beyond Duisburg's defence only to be brought down by Gerrit Nauber who was subsequently dismissed.
Met by a team who looked to tighten space as much as possible from thereon, it took the Canaries until the 58th minute to make the most of their numerical advantage when Oliveira fired home from inside the box.
Just five minutes later, the Portuguese forward had an impact again, his pressure leading to the ball lobbing into Duisburg's net to make it 2-0.
Daniel Farke's men controlled the contest for the remainder, Steven Naismith among those who went close to adding to the Canaries' tally.
City's players return to training tomorrow, ahead of Friday evening's match away to Arminia Bielefield.
