LOUIS Thompson signed for Norwich City on transfer deadline day in September 2014.

The young midfielder moved from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a three-year deal at Carrow Road with an option for a further 12 months.

Thompson was then loaned back to the League One club for the duration of the 2014-15 season, featuring 37 times in all competitions before sustaining a shoulder injury in February.

The youngster returned in time to make an appearance off the bench in the Robins' Play-Off Final against Preston, but Mark Cooper's side were defeated 4-0.

Having progressed through the Academy at the County Ground, Thompson spent further time on loan to Swindon during the 2015-16 season, making 29 appearances.

He debuted for City in the 6-1 EFL Cup win over Coventry City in August 2016, making five further appearances before suffering a serious Achilles injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

A month before obtaining his injury, Thompson had agreed a new deal at Carrow Road, committing his future to the Club until at least 2019.
