Teemu Pukki scored on his return to the starting line-up as Norwich City recorded a third straight victory in pre-season.
The win, over Huddersfield Town, came courtesy of Pukki's first half strike and a late effort from Adam Idah, but it was a match where the West Yorkshire visitors pushed Norwich and tested the home side's defence a numerous occasions.
Head coach Daniel Farke made five changes to the starting line-up from Tuesday’s win over Lincoln City, including giving first outings in the pre-season campaign for goalkeeper Tim Krul and Pukki.
Huddersfield came flying out of the traps early on, pressing the Norwich centre backs and keeper when they were on the ball. However, it was the Canaries who created the first opening when Pukki backheeled a low cross into the path of Pierre Lees-Melou, whose effort on goal was blocked behind for a corner.
Another neat passing move, involving Todd Cantwell and Lees-Melou gave Kieran Dowell a sight of goal from 20-yards, but he curled his effort over the crossbar.
Pukki broke the deadlock on 14 minutes though as Bali Mumba won the ball back and set up quick counterattack that saw Lukas Rupp slide a ball into the striker and he chipped a finish over the Huddersfield keeper Lee Nicholls.
Rupp then had the chance to make it 2-0 shortly after when Przemysław Płacheta rolled the ball into him on the edge of the area, but his effort was straight at Nicholls.
Neither side created much after that in terms of efforts at goal after that in the first half, with the closest the visitors coming to an equaliser being a cross to the back post, but Josh Koroma fouled Bali Mumba in attempting to get to the ball.
Farke made four changes at the break bringing on Michael McGovern, Onel Hernández, Adam Idah and Jordan Hugill for Krul, Rashica, Cantwell and Pukki.
Huddersfield had the first chance of the second half as Harry Tofollo pulled the ball back for Danny Ward on the edge of the six yard box but his wayward shot was turned behind for a corner by Płacheta.
Hernández then responded for Norwich with a curling shot that Ryan Schofield was equal to before Scott High brought a good save out of McGovern.
Then on the hour mark Dowell went close to a second as he free kick was, heading for the bottom corner, was saved by Schofield. Both sides continued to create more clearcut opportunities in the second half and Toffolo was unfortunate not to equalise when his angled drive whistled past the post.
Hernández then warmed the gloves of Schofield with a shot from inside the box and then Jordan Hugill could have wrapped up the victory late on, when he attemped to get on the end of a pass from Idah, but was denied a chance at tapping the ball into an empty net by a superb sliding challenge from Matty Pearson.
However, Idah made sure of the points in the 86th minute when he chested the ball down in the box and drove a right foot shot home.
