Norwich City Under-18s lost 2-1 in a narrow defeat against third placed Chelsea at the Cobham Training Centre.
City went into the game against Chelsea on the back of their first victory of the season, beating Swansea City last time out.
The testing conditions meant the first half was largely scrappy as both sides going in all square at half time.
The best chance of the half fell to City’s Josh Giurgi, getting on the end of a long ball before passing to Tyrese Omotoye, but the striker hit his shot over the bar.
The Blues started off the second half on the front foot, winning a penalty after Thierno Ballo was fouled in the box. The subsequent penalty was placed past William Johnson and into the back of the net.
City responded immediately - Chelsea goalkeeper Ziger misjudged the flight of the ball, allowing Andrew Omobamidele to volley in at the back post to make it 1-1.
Four minutes later Chelsea defender, Jack Wakely picked up the ball 35-yards out; he sent a powerful effort into the top corner, giving Johnson no chance.
Chelsea saw the remainder of the game out, as City looked to press the Blues, but the Canaries were unable to find an equaliser as the game finished 2-1.
