Akin Famewo joined the Canaries in January 2019, after breaking into the Luton Town first-team back in the 2017/18 season and subsequently impressing at Grimsby Town in the 2018/19 season during a loan.

He made his Academy debut for the Canaries in a Premier League 2 tie against Middlesbrough in April 2019, coming off the bench in a 3-2 loss to the Teesside club.

The young defender impressed head coach Daniel Farke earlier in the 2019/20 season, joining first-team training before making the bench against Aston Villa in October 2019. Shortly after, Akin was offered a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the Canaries.

Not only comfortable as a centre-half, Akin is tuned to play as a left-back as well.

Akin joined League One side Charlton Athletic on loan in summer 2020, just missing out on the play-offs with the Addicks on the final day.

He will spend the 2021/22 season back on loan at Charlton.
