Defensive midfielder Mathias Normann completed a season-long loan move to Norwich City with an option to buy in August 2021.
The Norwegian began his senior career in 2012 at Lofoten, who were playing in the fourth tier of the country’s pyramid at the time.
However, it didn’t take long for him to rise up the divisions when he moved to Bodø/Glimt, who were in the second tier when he joined in 2013.
One promotion later and Mathias began representing his new club in the top flight, making 27 league appearances in the 2016/17 season.
While at Bodø/Glimt, he had also been sent out on loan to Alta, who were in the third tier, where he made 17 appearances in all competitions.
In the summer of 2017, Brighton & Hove Albion brough Mathias to England for the first time, however he was only able to feature for their Under-23s side.
Brighton sent Mathias on loan to Molde, where he totalled 18 appearances in all competitions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ahead of the 2018/19 season, he then completed a permanent move to Rostov, who were competing in the Russian Premier League.
He made a total of 52 appearances for the club across three seasons.
Mathias has represented Norway on international level, making seven appearances for the senior national team
