After impressing on his senior league debut in an East Anglian Derby at the age of 18, Max Aarons hasn’t looked back.

He spent the bulk of his youth career at Luton Town’s academy, developing initially as a midfielder, his physical attributes later helping him to be a modern full-back.

At the age of 14, Max chose to leave Luton in favour of one-on-one after school training sessions with Saul Isaksson-Hurst, who had coached at youth level for Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

He eventually brought about the interest of Norwich, whose scouts were scratching their heads that this promising youngster had been without a club for two years.

Following a trial, Max joined Norwich City’s category one academy and went on to feature frequently for the under-23s, eventually wearing the captain’s armband.

Aged 18, Max signed his first professional contract with Norwich City in June 2018.

He made his debut in the Carabao Cup against Stevenage in August and scored his first goal for the club two weeks later in a 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Cardiff City.

The Three Lions came calling to award the full-back with his first cap for England Under-19s.

After playing against Ipswich, Max went on to start every one of the remaining 41 league games in the 2018/19 season and impressed the critics in the process.

March saw accolades rolling in with Max earning a place in the 2018-19 Championship Team of the Season and winning the EFL Young Player of the Season award.

Following promotion to the Premier League, Max made the natural next step on international duty, advancing to England’s Under-21s age group to feature in their 2021 Under-21 Euro qualifiers.

In June 2020, Max was one of 100 players worldwide to be nominated for the Golden Boy Award.

In the 2020/21 season, Max played all but one of City’s Championship winning campaign as he added another two goals and five assists to his tally.
