1J Esports reveal Kylem 'Lyricz' Edwards as team's first esports player

1J Esports are pleased to announce Kylem ‘Lyricz’ Edwards as the team’s first official esports player.

Lyricz, a well-respected FIFA professional, has partnered with 1J Esports and will stream from the club’s Twitch account on a regular basis, as well as create content for other 1J Esports channels.

The club recently announced the formation of its first-ever esports team. You can keep up to date with everything 1J Esports on Twitter and the website.

Speaking about the project, Lyricz said: “I think it is really exciting. We are planning for the future. It is not just a one-year project, we are looking to make it sustainable and I am excited for the journey.

“I think that people can expect a lot of content from us. I can’t wait to take part in the team events and compete for the World Cup and two v two tournaments and things like that. I can’t wait to get started.”

Kylem has been playing FIFA at a professional level since 2018 and his best year came during the FIFA 20 season when he finished eighth overall in the Global Series Rankings on Xbox One.

Highlights from that campaign included a second-place finish in the FUT 20 Champions Cup Stage 1, when he missed out on the number one spot in a closely contested final against Tekkz.

With the launch of FIFA 22 on October 1, Kylem says he is looking forward to a new chapter of his esports career with 1J Esports.

“I think it is always exciting, especially when you have been away from competing for quite a long time. I think that is where the players get their buzz."
