Abu Kamara says it is a joy to play alongside Tom Dickson-Peters and Jon Rowe after all three ended up on the scoresheet in Monday night’s victory over Wolverhampton in Premier League 2 Division 2.
The trio have been on hot goalscoring form all season with Norwich outscoring all the other teams in the division and Dickson-Peters (9), Kamara (8) and Jon Rowe (8) all in the top five scorers in the league.
“Playing with Jon Rowe and Tom Dickson-Peters is always a joy” said Abu. “I know if I see Jon Rowe one-v-one he is getting past his man and I know that Tom is going to make a movement for me that will help set me up.
“We have been with each other for a long time now and we work off each other really well.”
Speaking about the performance against Wolves, Abu added: “I think the lads bounced back really well from the previous game against Middlesbrough. We had to be at it because we couldn’t make it two losses and the coaches were saying ‘get after the ball’ and that is what we did well today.
“For my goal, we won possession high up the pitch. Tom Dickson-Peters got the ball, he drove up the pitch and committed the last defender and just squared it to me and a took a touch to get it out of my feet and the keeper came out and slotted past it.”
The win crowns off a good couple of weeks for Abu, who was called into the first team training for Dean Smith’s first training session as the new Norwich City head coach.
“I was surprised when I got told when I got told that I was going to be training with the first team,” admitted Abu. “I was shocked really, I didn’t believe it. I called my brother and told him, and everyone was just happy for me. Hopefully, I can be over there a lot more often because it was good over there. It fills me up with more confidence to do well because I know that there is a reward from doing well for the under-23s.”
