The club would like to congratulate the Norwich City Academy scholars of 2022, who recently achieved outstanding results in their qualifications for this year.
The 2022 second year scholars achieved the best L3 results in the academy's recent history, with all of them achieving the BTEC Extended Diploma In Sporting Excellence and Performance to at least a Distinction level and many of them achieving Distinction\*. This is equivalent to at least three A grades at A Level and prepares them exceptionally well for further Higher Education Academic options.
It has been a pleasure to teach the boys over the past two years and I am delighted and extremely proud that all of their hard work paid off. A big thank-you is owed to members of the MDT staff, who have worked and supported us through this journey and enabled the lads to succeed. We look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in the future both on and off the pitch.
This group have all also passed the UEFA C qualification, giving them a realistic coaching option moving forwards in their dual career pathway. Additionally, the group had a 100% pass rate for the new Sporting Excellence Professional Apprenticeship, again, a first In Academy History.
The Academy first year scholar group all passed their year 1 L3 BTEC certificate In Sporting Excellence and Performance to at least a Distinction grade, giving them the equivalent of at least an A grade A Level, setting them up brilliantly for the second year of their two year programme.
All the scholar groups have shown real commitment coming straight from finishing their exams into full time football. They have handled the transition really well, the group are really bright academically and this proved in their results in GCSE. Laws of the game and BTEC/A levels. The club couldn’t be prouder of all our scholars as this links with our club beliefs in producing well rounded people. Their achievements, over the range of qualifications, sets them up for after their playing careers or the next step in their career.
The first year scholars have all also passed their laws of the game qualification, providing a good Insight in to the first level of refereeing, and again options for their dual career pathway. We are looking forward to them successfully completing their academic and coaching qualifications In the second year of their Level 3 programme with the club, especially the Y7 community events they are currently organising for the Ormiston Trust.
The U16 group achieved fantastic GCSE results with each of the 2021-22 Academy registered players achieving at least a grade 4 (C grade) In their vital English Language and Maths qualifications.
A plethora of 7, 8 and 9 grades were achieved by the group, across a range of subjects, highlighting the academic potential of the group as they move Into their various level 3 qualifications as part of their scholarship at the Academy.
Our U16’s have had fantastic GCSE results, they have started their programme with a really good attitude and are already representing the club and the scholarship programme in a positive way. We are really proud of what they have achieved so far, particularly juggling their training alongside their schoolwork, travel and exams and we hope that they continue to thrive and achieve throughout their scholarship programme with us.
The results of all three groups highlights the Importance of academic progress alongside the football development of players registered with the Academy. There Is a strong multi disciplinary team approach to developing the players, within the Academy in all areas.
