Norwich City Under-23s coach Alan Neilson was pleased with his side's second half performance in the late thriller against Burnley in the Premier League 2 Division 2 match tonight.
He said on the performance, "The second half was really really good, I’d say first half we had chances to create and we could have scored a few goals. The goal they conceded wasn't very good but it was one of them ones where we knew that we could have done better.
"In the second half we virtually only played in their half. They had probably one little spell but the second half was a really good performance and I think the two goals were well deserved."
City had the majority of the shots at goal between the two sides but could only put two past the visitors.
"In the first game of the season we had four chances and we scored three goals. Tonight we've had, must be about 15 chances and only scored two - but Steve Weaver said when Flynn Clarke hit the post, ‘it's gonna be one of these nights.'
"Saxon did really well winning a penalty then the last goal was superb; a good pass forward, a good run forward across into cross into the box into the hot zone and then a good finish from Abu."
City's number seven, Flynn Clarke left the pitch unable to walk unsupported after a tackle late into the game.
"It was a 50/50 tackle, both went in strong you know which we've asked him to do i think Flynn came out a little bit worse, fingers crossed he’s not too badly injured. He had a great game and put on a good performance."
Christoph Zimmermann managed to get 45 minutes of play today, following a long injury stint from the start of the season.
"It’s great to have first team players play for the under-23s because they learn from them- he is a big strong lad and he enjoyed himself. It was a pleasure to have him."
