Flo Allen spoke to the media as new Norwich City Women head coach Andy Cook was formally introduced to the press.
Cook was appointed last month and has now officially begun his role after finishing his contract with Newcastle United.
"We're super excited to have Andy in the building," Allen said. "Andy's appetite for growth stood out, he has a lot of experience in top class clubs making waves in the women's game and that's what we're trying to do as well.
"Every conversation I've had with Andy has been super positive, about how we can make those small steps. Even if it's just that one per cent, it all helps.
"Not just as footballers, Andy's got a strong background in athletic development as well which can be so important in terms of injury prevention and player development.
"We've had some great discussions already. We have a recruitment strategy centred around homegrown talent. There'll be some new faces in a Norwich shirt next year.
"We want to make sure we have a balance between experience and up-and-coming talent. I think it's testament to what we have here that we've been able to attract a coach like Andy."
Allen also spoke about Carrow Road fixtures, as well as reflecting on the 2023/24 campaign.
"There'll be two games at Carrow Road minimum. Those games are central to our planning. We are capturing who our audience is and what they want to come to where they feel they can belong.
"But, it's a football match as well and players need to go out and perform.
"Looking back on last year, it was an excellent season. It was probably a case of what could have been. We're building a sustainable and stable strategy which now has Andy at the core.
"I must say thank you to Scott (Emmerson) as well for his work. He plays a fantastic role as our Under-16s coach in the development of this club.
"There are some really exciting steps we're introducing around nutrition, analysis software. We're operating as a tier three programme, that allows the players to just crack on and do what they need to do."
