His performance against Stoke City in the goalless draw stood out as he kept a clean sheet, making a string of impressive saves.
He also made vital interventions in the win at Millwall while the home side applied pressure for a late equaliser.
Left-back Dimi Giannoulis is the next player on the shortlist for the March award.
The Greece international started every game in March, playing his part both in attack and defence.
Giannoulis made 18 tackles across the four games, including a vital intervention to halt a Stoke City counter-attack.
Kenny McLean has proven to be one of the club's most consistent performers this year, alongside his midfield team-mate Gabriel Sara.
He was once again an ever-present this month for head coach David Wagner.
His partnership with Sara has been a productive one at the heart of midfield in 2023.
Finally, Gabriel Sara is nominated once again after picking up the February award.
The Brazilian midfielder scored twice and provided an assist in March.
His first goal, a stunning effort against Millwall was chosen as the EFL's goal of the week while he followed it up with a deft volley against Huddersfield Town in the 1-1 draw at the John Smith's Stadium.
