To celebrate Alex Tettey’s 36th birthday, we’ve taken a look back at nine of the best moments from his nine years at Norwich City!
While Tettey wasn’t brought to the club to score goals, he got his time in yellow and green off to the perfect start with a long-range debut strike against Doncaster Rovers in September 2012!
The phrase ‘Tettey only scores bangers’ became commonplace following his thunderous volley against Sunderland in 2014, which remains one of the greatest Premier League goals ever witnessed at Carrow Road!
In December 2015, City stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Cameron Jerome and Tettey.
One month later, he scored the only goal in the 76th minute as City beat Southampton 1-0 at Carrow Road in the Premier League.
When August 2018 came around, it was high time for another Tettey belter. On this occasion, it was against Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship.
Sometimes, Tettey didn’t even have to score to provide a moment of brilliance. It was his dance celebration in November 2018’s 4-3 win against Millwall that summed up the mood of all City fans at Carrow Road!
Tettey gave City the lead against Sheffield United in the Premier League during December 2019, and his celebration showed what the goal meant to him.
Baffling that Tettey never had five star skill moves on FIFA when he was pulling off rabonas like this in the FA Cup!
