Norwich City Women are delighted to announce that Ellie Bishop has signed a professional contract with the club.
The defender becomes the first women's player to ever sign a professional contract for the Canaries in a landmark occasion for the club.
Bishop returned to City last season after spells with Watford and Tottenham Under-21s, having previously been part of the Community Sports Foundation's Player Pathway from age nine.
She had her breakthrough season in senior football with Norwich City during the 2021/22 season and picked up the Young Player of the Season award at the end of the campaign.
On putting pen to paper, Bishop said: "It feels really good to progress to get a contract.
"I've grown up in Norwich and in the pathway system, and I've worked hard over the years, so it's exciting to finally get one."
Flo Allen, head of women's football, said: "Ellie is a player who we believe has significant potential and aligns to our player retention strategy.
"As a player who is deeply connected to the club, she is hungry to work hard and support the team’s ambitions of promotion next season."
