Each home game, executive director Zoe Webber provides supporters with an update through her boardroom notes in our official matchday programme, OTBC.
Good evening and welcome to Carrow Road for another midweek fixture under the lights.
We were delighted with the response of the players this time last week when we recovered from conceding an early goal against Hull City to go on to win the game.
It has not been easy for the players to find their rhythm at Carrow Road in recent months, but the reaction and the desire to get three points was important for their confidence.
We want to build on that against Birmingham and with your support, which was so important against Hull, we can do just that.
We take our community work seriously and we were delighted with the number of people from the scheme to prevent social isolation who came to last week’s win over Hull.
We made 500 tickets available again to under-privileged people and we will continue to support local charities as we enter the final phase of the season.
Our off-field work in this area and beyond has recently been recognised in football’s Sustainability Index, which is audited by Fair Game.
This body judges all professional clubs in finance, fan engagement, governance and equality standards.
Although we are continually striving to improve in each of these areas, we were ranked top of all the clubs in the Championship and finished with a higher score than every Premier League club.
Fair Game exists to promote financial independence and greater transparency in the sport and their work is noted at Government level.
Finally, most of our supporters will be aware of a shareholder meeting on February 13 and we are currently working through the legal and regulatory process before we can provide an update.
There were two resolutions on the night, with shareholders voting to allow the board to issue 194,512 new shares in the club.
Although we do not have a timeframe to be able to provide further information, we always act with the best interests of Norwich City.
We will continue to do that in the years ahead, but tonight it is about our fixture with Birmingham and an opportunity to secure another three important points.
Enjoy the game.
Zoe
