Each home game, executive director Zoe Webber provides supporters with an update through her boardroom notes in our official matchday programme, OTBC.
Here are the notes ahead of today's FA Cup fixture against Blackburn Rovers:
Good afternoon and welcome back to Carrow Road.
Due to printing deadlines we are writing these notes in expectation that the appointment of our new head coach will be confirmed before our FA Cup third round tie with Blackburn Rovers.
We hope that he will be in the stadium so that our supporters will be able to welcome him at the beginning of a new era at Norwich City.
The recruitment of a new head coach is always an important process and it is important to give our supporters some insight into the processes that are in place.
It is never our wish to find new head coaches, but the reality of life at this level means that we constantly track and monitor the performance of coaches across the world as part of our approach.
In addition, the candidates went through a thorough and rigorous two-stage interview process that was approved at the highest level of the club.
We have been focused on bringing someone to Norwich who has experienced success at this level and knows the demands of coaching winning teams in EFL Championship football.
Our playing style, which is long-established, is also important to our supporters and that has been one of the determining factors in the recruitment of the new head coach.
Primarily we want results – winning football – but we also want to play with a certain style that our supporters can identify and enjoy.
We are all excited by his expected arrival and we are certain that he will go on to be a hugely popular figure with our supporters in the years to come.
This is also the right moment to place on record our thanks to Steve Weaver and Allan Russell for stepping up and taking the team for the last two games.
While results have not been what we would have wished for, they worked tirelessly over those few days to best prepare the team.
They had very little time to prepare the team for both of those games and we know how much your support meant to Allan and Steve during those two games.
The atmosphere here is so important and we have been trialling a drum in the Lower Barclay Stand over the last two games. So far, the response has been really positive feedback.
We know this is something that many supporters have wanted and we are delighted to have been able to facilitate this.
We are still at the consultation phase over its use, but we hope that its success will lead to its return at future matches here at Carrow Road.
As we turn to today’s game against Blackburn we hope to have a more positive result and performance than our encounter back in December.
The FA Cup is important to the club and we would love to see our name in the hat for the next round.
Enjoy the game,
Zoe
