Brandon Williams said Norwich City needed to be more clinical in the match against Tottenham Hotspur, which saw the Canaries lose their four-game unbeaten run with a 3-0 loss.
Norwich had 60 per cent of the ball and created enough clearcut chances to have affected the outcome of the match, but they only managed one effort on target and that was a shot from Teemu Pukki that was comfortably saved by Hugo Loris.
“I think at half-time we were in the match,” said Brandon. “We felt confident. I thought we controlled the first half. We had a lot of possession, and we had a couple of chances that if we had put away it would have been a completely different game.
“Going into the second half I think we switched off on the corner and we let them dictate the game in the second half. I just think if we were more clinical then we would have controlled the game.”
It was a wonder goal from Brazilian Lucas Moura which opened the scoring in the first half, but both Pukki and Adam Idah had good chances to score before Tottenham got their second goal from a corner after 67 minutes.
“At this level you can think that you are in control and then they score two and three and the game is done,” added Brandon. “When you come to quality side like this away, and they have got the fans behind them, then it is difficult, and you need to take your chances.”
The loss is the first under new head coach Dean Smith, but Brandon says it is about looking forward now and trying to put things right in the next match.
“It is diappointing but this is just a game that we have lost and we have got to move on and focus on the next game. We are going to look at the things we need to improve on and then we will go into the next game and try and get three points.
"I think we take the positives from today's game because we have not taken the three points but there were a lot of good things in the game. I think when you look at the expected goals it was very close. I don't think it was a 3-0 game but that is the score was so that is what we have got to take away from game.
"We have got to keep moving forward. There is a lot of games to go and the teams above us are very close. It is not that far away, so we just have to concentrate on ourselves."
