Norwich City Under-18s suffered a defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Under-18 Premier Legaue due to a late goal from Harry Howell.
Greg Crane's side had been able to land the first punch when Elliot Myles set up Michael Reindorf for the game's opening goal after quarter of an hour.
The striker's left-footed effort nestling in the far bottom corner.
However, the hosts turned it up a gear and started to apply some pressure, which was then rewarded with Charlie Tasker's equaliser in the 25th minute.
Both sides had chances late in the half to steal ahead before the interval but the goalkeepers came out on top in this instance.
Similarly to the closing stages of the first half, the second period played out evenly.
Both sides threatened without putting either goalkeeper in real danger.
The contest swung in favour of Brighton in the 83rd minute when Uriah Djedje was given his marching orders after picking up a second yellow card.
And they made that count when Harry Howell headed home the winning goal in the 90th minute.
A disappointing end to what had been a strong performance from a young Canaries side.
