A look at former Norwich City player Kyle Lafferty's inclusion in Northern Ireland's squad for the 2016 UEFA European Championships.
Born in the Northern Ireland town of Enniskillen, Lafferty started his career as an apprentice at Burnley.
During his time at Turf Moor, the striker made his international bow in May 2006 in a friendly against Uruguay, and scored his first goal in his third appearance against Finland.
Spells across Europe then followed for Lafferty, with stints in Scotland, Switzerland and Italy with Rangers, Sion and Palermo respectively.
After a year in Serie B, the 36-year-old would return to English football in June 2014 as he joined Norwich. He featured 18 times in the first half of the season, before joining Turkish side Çaykur Rizespor on loan.
The following season saw Lafferty struggle for game time with the Canaries in the Premier League, and he joined Birmingham City on loan for the second half of the 2015/16 season.
That summer saw Lafferty called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the 2016 European Championships in France.
Lafferty played the entirety of Northern Ireland's first group game as they fell to defeat to Poland. He was an unused substitute for the 2-0 win over Ukraine, and came on for the final half-hour against Germany.
Three points was enough for Michael O'Neill's side to progress to the Round of 16, where Lafferty would feature in the entirety of the defeat to Wales.
Following the tournament, Lafferty returned to the Canaries before departing at the end of his contract in the summer of 2017, returning to Scotland as he signed for Hearts.
The striker would spend the next few years of his career with a number of different clubs across Europe.
A second stint at Rangers was followed by Sarpsborg 08 of Norway, Sunderland, Italian side Reggina, two spells at Kilmarnock either side of a spell in Greece with Anorthosis Famagusta.
In February 2023, he joined Linfield, playing in the top flight of his home nation for the first time, before leaving at the end of the season.
Last summer, the 36-year-old joined Johnstone Burgh, a seventh-tier Scottish side based in Renfrewshire.
