A look at former Norwich City player Przemysław Płacheta's inclusion in Poland's squad for the 2020 UEFA European Championships.
Born in Łowicz, Płacheta played for a number of sides in his native Poland during his youth, as well as spending time with German club RB Leipzig.
He made his professional debut in the 3.Liga for SG Sonnenhof Großaspach before returning to Poland to play for MKP Pogoń Siedlce, Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, and Śląsk Wrocław.
In July 2020, Płacheta made the move to sign for Norwich and featured 26 times in the Sky Bet Championship during his debut campaign at Carrow Road.
It was during the 2020/21 season where he made his international debut for Poland, featuring in a friendly against Ukraine.
The 26-year-old earned a spot in Poland's squad for the 2020 European Championship, where they sat in Group E against Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
Płacheta had to be patient for his opportunity at the tournament, and was an unused sub in their first two group games, before coming on for the final 12 minutes of the final group game against Sweden.
Poland finished bottom of the group and exited the tournament, and the winger returned to Carrow Road where he made 12 Premier League appearances in the 2021/22 season.
The following season saw him join Birmingham City on loan, but he only made five appearances in an injury-disrupted campaign.
He returned to Norwich the following season, and made 16 appearances in the first half of the campaign before joining Swansea City in January 2024.
After the expiry of his contract at Swansea, Płacheta departed the club in the summer of 2024.
