Goals from Jonathan Rowe and Christian Fassnacht sealed a win away from home against Hull City in the Sky Bet Championship on Friday night.
The hosts claimed a late goal back through Tyler Morton in the 92nd minute but it wasn't enough to come back from the Canaries' 2-0 lead.
David Wagner made seven changes from the team's FA Cup draw at Carrow Road last Saturday, with only Dimitris Giannoulis, Borja Sainz, Ashley Barnes and Josh Sargent keeping their place in the starting 11.
Scott Twine was first to strike at goal inside 10 minutes but his effort could only be deflected away for a corner that ended up back in Hull's own half.
Norwich's opening attack came from a Barnes and Sargent link up, the latter looping a ball to Borja Sainz charging goalwards, but the Spaniard fired over the bar from inside the box.
Jack Stacey and Rowe combined well on the right wing on 20 minutes to get a cross towards Sargent in the box, but a Hull head was first to reach the ball and the danger was cleared.
No amount of possession or set pieces could put the Tigers ahead, however, as it was David Wagner's side who found the breakthrough in the opening half.
Rowe found his name on the scoresheet for the 12th time this season, muscling his way through six Hull City players to find the bottom corner of Ryan Allsop's net with 10 minutes of the half to go.
Pressure was applied from the hosts in the opening stages of the second half, when Ozan Tufan chested a ball forward but his strike fired narrowly wide of the mark.
Liverpool loanee Fábio Carvalho sparked into action shortly afterwards, dragging his shot too far left to find an equaliser.
Angus Gunn reacted well from close-range as first-half substitute Billy Sharp got a shot on target amidst the Hull pressing.
Captain Kenny McLean was able to get free of his man on a Gabriel Sara corner but could only send the ball over the bar.
The clean sheet remained in tact for Norwich as Regan Slater's powerful shot was kept out by a hand from Gunn.
It was ultimately Norwich's substitutions that solidified the win, as Onel Hernández took up his position down the left wing, slotting a ball to Christian Fassnacht in the box, who flicked the ball past Allsop to extend the Canaries lead with five minutes to go.
A consolation goal came from Morton in injury time but the Canaries held onto the win at the MKM Stadium.
