Canaries claim three points against Hull City

Norwich City ended their long wait for a home win with a 3-1 victory over Hull City in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night.

Coming from behind to go in at the break level thanks to Kieran Dowell's strike, Gabriel Sara and Josh Sargent would clinch the points.

In the early exchanges, Hull seemed willing to allow Norwich to play the ball in front of them, dropping off and cutting off the space.

That made it more surprising when they took the lead in the 14th minute through Jacob Greaves.

The defender was the main benefactor of a scramble in the penalty area as a result of a set-piece - his deflected effort going beyond Angus Gunn and into the net.

That prompted a bit more initiative from the Canaries and with Onel Hernández and Dimi Giannoulis probing down the left, a leveller would soon arrive.

Dowell got onto a cutback from Hernández and, again with the help of a deflection, found the net.

Clear-cut chances were not fast in coming for either team, an Adam Idah header that went over the crossbar the next best that Norwich could muster.

The second half started better for David Wagner's men with chances falling to Dowell and Idah.

First, Dowell won possession in a dangerous area before opting to pass instead of shoot with the attempted cross cut out.

Then, Hernández fed Idah but his effort was pulled wide of the goal.

However, that was soon forgotten when the Cuban international danced his way into the Hull City area before finding Sara on the edge of the box and he tucked it in the bottom corner.

The ball was in the net again just minutes later but Grant Hanley was deemed offside and his header ruled out.

The left-hand side of Norwich's formation continued to pose a threat, this time Giannoulis cutting in and testing Matt Ingram with a shot.

Another chance fell to Dowell when Idah played a sublime pass into his path but it would trickle wide of the post.

And the third would arrive late on when Sara turned provider, feeding Sargent to fire home the clinching goal.
