Norwich City suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship.
Goals from Sam Greenwood and Samuel Silvera proved to be the difference between the sides on the night.
Norwich had made two changes from the team who had been beaten by Leeds, George Long replacing the injured Angus Gunn in goal while Marcelino Núñez made his return from injury.
After the opening quarter of an hour, Norwich had been the better team without really troubling Seny Dieng in the Boro goal.
They controlled possession and had opportunities but a Gabriel Sara free-kick was struck over before a pass to Onel Hernández was narrowly over his head in a dangerous area.
The visitors' first chance came in the 19th minute when Kenny McLean got in front of Isaiah Jones' shot to clear any danger.
They continued to enjoy some territory with the next best goalscoring chance falling to Lukas Engel who controlled well but could only fire over.
Not long after, Shane Duffy made an excellent intervention to deny Hayden Hackney.
Inside the first minute of the new half, Boro would take the lead through Greenwood, capitalising on an error at the back.
In response, Norwich moved well down the left but Núñez could only find the woodwork with his effort.
However, it would leave the Canaries open to the counter-attack and Long was called into action to deny Matt Crooks after a breakaway.
The Chilean would go close again for Norwich direct from a corner-kick but Dieng was alert before Ben Gibson couldn't find the target with a header at the back post.
Hwang Ui-Jo had a couple of attempts on goal with his head but didn't manage to find the equaliser while Borja Sainz also tried from long range.
When the second goal did arrive, it went to Boro again - this time substitute Silvera with the finish in added time.
Jonathan Rowe pulled one back but at that stage, it was too late to mount a comeback.
