Norwich City produced an emphatic performance as they were 4-0 winners away to Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

Josh Sargent, Ashley Barnes, Jonathan Rowe and Adam Idah all netted as the Canaries continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Head coach David Wagner named an unchanged side that started Sunday's home win against Millwall. There was a place on the bench for new signing Adam Forshaw, as well as the returning Przemysław Płacheta.

Sargent registered the game's first opportunity, but the American's header was tame and straight at Lee Nicholls.

The hosts would come close to opening the scoring within five minutes, as Josh Koroma's strike from distance hit the post.

Norwich would go in front, after some great work from Sargent. The US international charged down the Huddersfield goalkeeper to block a kick and got to the ball to nod in bravely.

But that would mark the end of Sargent's afternoon, as he picked up an injury as a result of scoring the goal with Idah his replacement.

The Canaries doubled their lead from the penalty spot, after Jonathan Rowe was fouled. Barnes stepped up and sent Nicholls the wrong way for the second.

Angus Gunn was called into action as Huddersfield went in search of a goal back. The Scottish international's outstretched hand pulled Josh Ruffels' header away from goal.

Norwich added a third goal a few minutes into the second half. Idah made a brilliant, powerful run forward and his ball across goal was perfect for Rowe to tap in for his fifth goal in five games.

Gunn was later alert to keep hold of Tom Edwards' volley, before comfortably saving from Koroma's deflected effort.

Christian Fassnacht almost added a fourth, but his effort took a deflection and went for a corner.

The Terriers went in search of a way back into the game, and Gunn was forced into a great save to deny Pat Jones.

Norwich added their fourth through Idah. Płacheta did brilliantly to get onto a loose ball and found Idah, whose finish was perfect.

The Canaries travel to Ashton Gate on Tuesday night for their Carabao Cup second round fixture against Bristol City.
