Norwich City are delighted to announce that Cillian O’Grady has won the Michelle Dack Fan of the Season award for 2022/23, as voted for by his fellow supporters.
Cillian received over 4,000 votes in the public vote, including support from last year’s runner up Jill Dann and the mother of last year’s winner, Amber Sheehy. Both expressed that Cillian’s dedication and commitment to the club make him a deserved candidate.
In association with Fosters Solicitors, Cillian has also been chosen as our Community Hero for April.
Our Fan of the Season regularly travels to home and away fixtures, even though he is based in Dublin, Ireland. He is truly committed to the club and travels more than any known fan to watch the team, having done so consistently for the past two years.
The Irish Canary Supporters panellist also attends the Carrow Road supporters' meetings in person.
Cillian said: “Winning the Michelle Dack Fan of the Season Award is beyond my wildest dreams. I'd like to firstly congratulate Clay and Nicol on being shortlisted for the award, which in itself is an immense achievement and so well deserved.
“I wouldn’t be in the position to give the club and team such support if it wasn’t for the great support that I receive from my wife Joan who, when not attending games with me, is busy dropping and collecting me to and from Dublin Airport at ridiculous times.”
He continued: “Although I travel from Ireland for games, the players, club staff, fans and the people of Norfolk have made me feel at home in Norwich and made me feel like one of your own. Thank you all.”
Cillian will be presented with his award in front of the crowd at Norwich City’s home fixture against Swansea on Saturday, April 22.
Congratulations to our two other nominees shortlisted into the top three votes for the award, Clay Steggles and Nicol Nicholls.
