Norwich City can confirm that the club has lodged an appeal with The FA to overturn the red card shown to Borja Sainz during Wednesday’s Sky Bet Championship game against Middlesbrough.
Sainz was shown a straight red card for violent conduct by referee Robert Madley, following an incident with Middlesbrough captain Jonny Howson in the 30th minute of the game.
After reviewing video footage of the incident and speaking with Borja, the club believes there is sufficient evidence to overturn the decision.
