Sydney van Hooijdonk has joined Norwich City on loan from Serie A side Bologna, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old arrives at Carrow Road having been with Bologna since July 2021 after starting his professional career with NAC Breda.
Since making the move to Italy, van Hooijdonk has also spent time on loan in the Eredivisie with SC Heerenveen. Across all competitions, he netted 26 times in 54 appearances.
Internationally, he has featured at youth level for the Netherlands, making two appearances for the Under-21s.
He has been given the number 14 shirt, and will now link up with the Canaries for the remainder of this campaign.
Joining the club, van Hooijdonk said: "The last few days have been hectic. Flying in yesterday and doing all the medicals. But finally, everything is done. I'm really happy.
"The training ground is amazing, and the facilities are great. I think there's everything to perform and work hard.
"I've met almost all the lads, and they're all really nice. It's been a warm welcome."
Sporting director, Ben Knapper added: "We’re all really excited to welcome Sydney to Norwich City. He’s a player of real pedigree and potential, having already had some fantastic experiences in his career to date.
“We’re excited to continue that journey with him, and as both a person and player we feel he’s a great fit for our environment and strategy.
“We can’t wait to start working with him.”
