Norwich City have completed the signing of midfielder Pelle Mattsson from Danish Superliga side Silkeborg for an undisclosed fee.

Mattsson has signed a contract until 2028, with a club option, and will wear the number seven shirt.

Joining the club, Mattsson said: "When I first heard of the interest from Norwich, I was proud. It's been a long time since the first interest and now we're finally here, I'm just ready.

"I can't wait to get going, stepping out onto that pitch and wearing the yellow jersey."

Sporting director Ben Knapper added: “Pelle is someone we have followed for a considerable amount of time and we’re delighted to finally bring him to the club.

“He will add great technical quality to our midfield and he possesses an extremely well-rounded profile, effective in all phases of the game. He has a lot of experience for his age and will also bring leadership qualities, communication and personality to our group. He’s an intelligent player and someone that we feel will complement the rest of our squad in a really nice way.

“We’re all excited to work with him and we look forward to him playing an important role here going forwards.”

The Dane joined Silkeborg as a 13-year-old and progressed through the academy at JYSK Park, going on to feature 149 times in all competitions for them.

The 24-year-old was part of the Silkeborg side that were Danish Cup winners during the 2023/24 season and represented Denmark at Under-19 level.

The transfer is subject to international clearance and approval by The FA and EFL.
