As part of the EFL's Together Supporting Communities initiative, Norwich City are delighted to welcome Norfolk Community Foundation to Carrow Road for Saturday's Blackburn Rovers fixture.
The club have given over 850 tickets to the game to the Foundation who also run the Nourishing Norfolk project that administer food banks across Norfolk.
Jamie Kowalyk, marketing and communications manager for the Norfolk Community Foundation said: "We are enormously grateful to Norwich City for donating these tickets to us to distribute to local individuals being supported by charities and community groups across the county.
"Thanks to their generosity, hundreds of families, some for the first time, will be able to enjoy watching a match and cheering on their local club in person – something many would otherwise be unable to afford to do, particularly with the cost of living crisis and increasing financial pressures. For many families, this will be a special memory they can treasure for years to come.”
The tickets have been distributed via eight of the Foundation's food hubs, which support families who would otherwise struggle by providing affordable and healthy food at greatly reduced prices, and via 13 member organisations of the Sir Norman Lamb Coalition for Young People, who support children and young people around their mental health, including young carers, refugees, those with Autism and a learning disability.
The EFL recently launched their campaign to support the communities and fans of the 72 league clubs during the cost of living crisis.
The scheme will see EFL Clubs provide community services and matchday offers to help people in challenging economic times and will contribute towards the Government’s ‘Help for Households’ initiative.
