Norwich City were held to a 0-0 draw in the Sky Bet Championship by Rotherham United.
The home side were by far the dominant team at Carrow Road but failed to convert any of the chances created in a frustrating afternoon.
The draw means that the Canaries will remain outside the play-off spots with a trip to the Riverside Stadium to come on Friday evening.
Sam McCallum was first to test Josh Vickers in the Rotherham goal, his 25-yard strike saw the 'keeper forced into a save at full stretch.
The resulting throw-in produced another chance, and the stand-in goalkeeper pulled off his second impressive save in a minute.
The Canaries' strong start continued with a blocked Teemu Pukki strike before Gabriel Sara's curled effort was bending away from the goal - all coming inside the opening seven minutes.
When the visitors managed to find their bearings, they created an excellent chance for Tariqe Fosu but he could only fire over the crossbar.
On the half-hour mark, McCallum again had Vickers scrambling but this time a deflection took it around the post.
Sara went close again in the final minute of the half, his free-kick worrying Vickers but, again, just off target.
The best of the early second-half chances went to Onel Hernández, his deflected effort acrobatically cleared off the line by Tyler Blackett.
Marquinhos also forced Vickers into a good save just after the hour mark - the rebound falling to McCallum who was quickly closed down.
The resulting corner-kick produced another opportunity but Pukki's snapshot was wide.
Wes Harding came to Rotherham's rescue in added time, clearing Christos Tzolis effort off the line
The substitute would have one more opportunity but couldn't control his effort from a tight angle and City would be unable to break down the Millers.
