Norwich City staff, Academy players, and Norwich City Community Sports Foundation staff recently joined together to donate food and essential items to a local food bank in time for Christmas.

With winter and Christmas being a difficult time for families on a low income, and food banks in the UK are struggling to cope more than ever as the nation battles with a cost of living crisis, the club and Foundation wanted to provide some assistance.

Donations were for the Norwich Food Bank, who are part of The Trussell Trust network. They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

Both food and household items were donated, including boxes of toilet roll, sweets and nappies, deodorant and shampoo, along with lots of food from custard to pasta sauce, tinned vegetables to biscuits.

We would also like to encourage supporters to donate if you are able to do so, as the following items are always welcome:

Tinned meat – Jam – Crisps – Custard - Instant mash - Sweets/chocolate – Long Life Milk and Fruit Juice – Pasta Sauce – Tinned vegetables – Tinned rice pudding – Breakfast or Cereal Bars – Long life sponge pudding - Rice – Noodles - Lentils, beans and pulses - Tea and coffee – Tinned fruit - Biscuits - Cereal - Soup - Pasta
