Norwich City are delighted to announce a new European Destination partnership between the club and the tourist board of Gran Canaria, in collaboration with La Liga side Unión Deportiva Las Palmas.
The agreement sees the Gran Canaria Tourist Board logo feature on the sleeve of Norwich City’s men’s first team shirts for the 2023/24 season.
Following a period of knowledge-sharing with UD Las Palmas, a strategic partnership between the two clubs has been formalised under the new agreement.
Details of future collaboration such as mutual use of facilities, potential friendly fixtures, and youth team development experiences will be announced in due course.
After five years in the second tier of Spanish football, UD Las Palmas celebrated a return to the top flight for the coming season by securing a second-placed finish to their 2022/23 campaign on the final day.
A revamped half-time entertainment programme for Carrow Road matchdays will be unveiled in due course in association with the Gran Canaria Tourist Board.
Sam Jeffery, Commercial Director, said: “This has been a collaboration long in the making, with discussions between the club, UD Las Palmas, La Liga and the Gran Canaria Tourist Board having been ongoing for nearly a year. We are grateful for the support of the Executive team at UD Las Palmas in helping us to grow our relationship with the Gran Canaria Tourist Board and secure this exciting new partnership.
“In recent weeks, representatives of Norwich City have been fortunate enough to see first-hand that Gran Canaria is a fantastic destination, and we are thrilled to announce this significant deal for the 2023/24 season.”
Ed Turnham, Head of Sales and Acquisition, added: "It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Pablo and Noelia from the Gran Canarian Tourist Board and UD Las Palmas respectively to get this deal done.
"When we visited Gran Canaria last month I was taken by the vibrancy and beauty of the island, whilst UD Las Palmas, a newly promoted La Liga club, clearly display a number of the same core values that we hold dear at Norwich City. As a result, we can’t wait to get started on delivering a transformational partnership."
