Norwich City Under-18s coach Greg Crane says their upcoming fixture against West Ham will be a tough one, but the side are looking forward to the challenge.
"I'm always excited for the game at the end of a hard training week," Crane says.
"It's what we work all week for, to play in the game and this weekend is no different. It'll be another competitive game, West Ham are always a strong side. We know the type of game we're going to get.
"Hopefully the lads have prepared well, and we'll approach it like we have done with every other game this season."
The Under-18s are yet to pick up a point so far this season, but Crane says the process will prove beneficial as players move up the age groups and into the first-team.
"There's been some good parts, and there's been some bad parts. We rotate the squad a lot each game, so every player has an opportunity to play. Each week, we might make five or six changes.
"We believe that all the lads deserve an opportunity to play, then it's up to them to shine and come through. Some of our results will suffer because of that, but the process over a longer period of time will hopefully prove beneficial.
"It's no different to the pathway that the likes of Jonathan Rowe, Tony Springett, and even Jaden Warner have been on. Hopefully, that way we'll see another one like Jaden Warner make his debut.
"That's the main aim, and I understand that it's not always nice being on the end of results every weekend but for what we want to do and how we want to do it, it works for us and gets players moving up and developing."
Norwich travel to play West Ham, and the Under-18s coach is aware of the threats the Hammers pose.
"They're a strong side, and they've got a very experienced coach in Kevin Keen, and he's someone who I hold in very high regard.
"His teams are very organised, and they play in a very good way. It'll be another difficult game, but we'll look forward it as we do with all games."
