Norwich City Academy forward Damari Daley has signed his first professional contract with the club.
"It's quite overwhelming," Daley said. "It's something I've really worked towards since I was a young boy, and to sign my first pro contract, it's a stepping stone to where I want to be in the future.
"It's always an honour putting on the shirt, always know you have to give 100% and there's always an opportunity to impress."
The 17-year-old spoke about his time at the club, as well as his key attributes as a player.
"I first joined when I was around 14, and I left home and went into digs. I went on to become a scholar, and I've been pushing really hard in training and trying to get the best out of myself.
"All the coaches have really helped me along the way, I've received a lot of support. It's the first step in my career.
"I'm quite a direct player, I like to enjoy myself on the pitch and express myself. I like to score goals."
Daley highlights Jonathan Rowe as a player in the first-team as someone he looks up to.
"Jonny Rowe is a big role model for me. He came through the same system as me, he's shown that it can be done.
"The pathway is very important, players have shown that it can be done and it shows that Norwich do give young players those opportunities."
With not long left of the 2023/24 season, Daley says his main aim for the rest of the season and moving forward is to keep scoring goals.
"For the rest of the season, I just want to keep scoring goals and get my assists up in the Under-18s, and maybe creep into the Under-21s squad and get some minutes."
