Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke was keen to highlight the role Canaries fans played in Saturday's 2-1 win at Brentford, backing the team from the first to the last whistle.
"Finally, we are there," he said. "We had to wait pretty long until we got our first win. To have this win at a tough place, Brentford had a good start to the season, to score two goals and bring a tight lead over the line is great for the mood, confidence, self-belief and the table. Everything is a bit closer together, so a great day for us.
"I wanted to keep my wave as short as possible. The fans deserve to celebrate, but I wanted my players to take centre stage because for them it's difficult, especially when you're such a young age, to deal with the situation.
"Sadly, I'm old enough to have experienced such situations a few times in my coaching career. It's been a long wait for our supporters. Last season we had win after win and they weren't allowed to celebrate with us.
"To have the first win on this level, sometimes you have to be patient, but I hope they enjoy themselves and have a great Saturday night and weekend in total. This is well deserved because they were excellent. It's not that easy to keep the belief and spirit high but they did from the first second today.
"After a tough start and ten games without a win, it's not easy to play with confidence but this is what we did. We wanted to return to our DNA, keep the ball on the floor and feed our offensive players low passes or into the space, instead of going too long in the air.
"In these terms, we were excellent and deserved to lead 2-0 at half-time. On this level, it's always fine margins. Teemu Pukki had a great chance to score the third goal and he missed. If he scored, we'd probably have won 4-0 or 5-0, but he missed.
"We have a young squad and Brentford were able to find a goal, but there was fight and resilience. 60 or 65 minutes of exactly the football we want to play. We need to show our other side, some steel, fight and resilience to bring it over the line.
"If you don't score the third goal out of a counter-attack to bury the game then you have to go until the end against the tallest side in the league. They sent their tall centre-backs up front and you can't avoid all the long balls, so you have to show great mentality and defending behaviour in our box, which is what we showed.
"Many compliments to our lads because we didn't have all our defensive players available, so a big win for the mentality and quality of my lads.
"There's no replacement for wins and we know we have lots of potential in this dressing room, which is pretty young. The longer we work together and the more time these players have to adapt to English football on Premier League level, the better this team will be.
"The pressure during the second part of the season is on us. Two points from ten games was nowhere near good enough to stay on this level. Out of the next 20 games, we need to win 25 points to give ourselves the chance for the last period of the season.
"This is one game and three points, not more and not less. We take this today but we know it's not more than three points and we want to keep going."
