Here's what Norwich City head coach Dean Smith had to say at his pre-Wolverhampton Wanderers press conference, which took place at Lotus Training Centre on Friday morning.
On Tony Springett...
He's earned the right to get into the team, so there's no expectation on him really. He was unfortunate at half-time that he didn't come off with a goal and an assist. We had a good chance to set him up for a goal and just played the ball slightly below him.
He played a great ball for Teemu, who's gone and hit the post. He's a lad that we all love working with. He's got bundles of energy, great work ethic and his numbers were brilliant, as I said after the game. We're really pleased with how he's progressing.
On Angus Gunn...
He needs to play football games, we know that. I rested Tim and I want goalkeepers as well as outfield players fighting for positions. By coming in and doing so well, Angus has certainly done that. He made some good saves and some that I'd expect him to make as well.
On summer recruitment to support Teemu Pukki...
We've got Adam Idah coming back from injury, we've got Josh Sargent coming back from injury. At times, they've played in wider areas. When we played two up front, we showed that we can be a threat, both with Adam and Teemu. I feel that they can help support Teemu for next season.
We're also going into the Championship, where the levels aren't as high as they are in this league defensively for the opposition, so I feel we've got bodies in here that can score goals.
Creating them is certainly an area where I think we need to bring in people. As a football club, last time we got promoted we lost Emi Buendia from that team.
We have got some options in the wide areas but they've not produced enough good numbers. They know that. There aren't enough assists or goals from those areas and that's something that we need to improve on and we're working with those players, but those pockets are areas that we need to get in and create opportunities.
On how to stop following promotion with relegation...
I can tell you that once we've got promoted next season, if we get promoted, because that's the big question mark for me first. We have to go and prove that we can be in the top two again next season. Once we do that, we'll be looking forward to try to get into the Premier League again.
On Wolves...
Watford had a good point in the week and we've played Wolves twice already this season and they've not managed to score against us, so it's something that we can cling onto and take into the game.
We played very well at home and should've beaten them in that game, then we went and beat them in the FA Cup, so it's a team that we know a lot about and we've got some good memories of playing against them, so hopefully we can take that into the game.
Wolves are a good team with a very good coach and they were pushing for the top four and top six at times this season. They've just fell away a little bit over the last few weeks.
We've played them twice and played well twice. That's what we have to take into this game. The players know that, although I will remind them as well.
It's important that we're tight at the back because we've leaked too many goals over the last few weeks. Jamie Vardy's movement I thought was exceptional on Wednesday night, so they're going to have to be on their game against Raúl Jiménez as well.
They've not been the biggest goal scorers in the top half of the table, so probably believe that they need to score more goals to be competitive enough to get into the top four or top six.
Tactically, they're spot on. Bruno's a really good coach. I've had three good games against him already this season and I'm looking forward to the fourth. Hopefully he's recovered from Covid.
On the North London Derby...
It makes the Tottenham game an exciting finish I suppose. They were deserved winners on the night and it makes it really tight now for that top four finish.
On team selection for the final two games...
Obviously we want to win football games. There's a lot of money at stake, but we don't want to finish the season with doom and gloom. We've been relegated two games ago and I've gone through a period of mourning now and I want to come out of that and go an enjoy football games.
I enjoyed Leicester for 58 minutes and then we had to suffer, but I want the players to go and enjoy themselves as well and play with a little bit of freedom, so that's what we have to do. We can be looking at next season as well.
On Wednesday's defeat to Leicester...
There is a big confidence issue because they could've scored another after eight seconds from the kick-off because it went back to Dimi, who took a bad touch, and they nearly went through.
You can see from the body language of both sets of players when they scored that goal, Leicester were ready to go and press and try to score more. It was a little bit of deflation for our players, who performed so well up until that period. They know it's a 90 minute game and they know they've got to hold out better.
It could've been another game, we could've taken our chances, so certainly there is a confidence issue around the players at the moment. I want them to get through the mourning period of getting relegated because we all hurt.
I look at the team in general and how we've played. When we've got a little bit more freedom... at half-time against Chelsea when we came in at 2-0 and it looked like the game was lost, we came out fighting and showed a really good version of ourselves.
We did exactly the same against Manchester United when we were 2-0 down. It's the ones where you're maybe expected to come back that we mentally find a little bit harder, so that has been a problem. We have to learn to overcome that and the players will. It's a young-ish group so they are learning and we can help them with that.
If you go into a game with a game plan, you feel like your game plan is okay. It was okay for 54 minutes against Leicester. Vardy's movement then changed the game, but stick to your game plan. Don't try to do something different because one man's bit of brilliance has got the goal.
Don't change your mentality in that area. We changed it a little bit too quickly I think and tried to chase the game or made mistakes and got on the back foot straight away. I thought we'd been brave before that, trying to play out when we had the ball and play through their press. It's pretty much about being braver and sticking to a game plan that was working up until somebody's brilliance.
On not taking chances...
It's frustrating, but I'd rather be creating chances than not creating chances. That's the positive part, against good teams we have created chances. Against Manchester United, we had an unbelievable chance at 2-2 and De Gea made a really good save.
Brandon Williams had a header at Aston Villa at 1-0 down... these are all big moments in games. He headed over but it was okay to kick him in the face after that. We've had some really big moments in games that we haven't quite taken and that's frustrating because, as we all know, goals change games.
On maintaining positivity...
The biggest thing is fans don't want to see me smiling, that's for sure, but I'm a human being and I want to make sure that the players are positive because if they go into a game and see me low, then it's very difficult to motivate and lift them.
I'm not going to be coming into training in a clown's uniform at the moment. It's been a tough time and we're all hurting, but there's a way to come through it, and that's by having positivity around the group, which is what we're trying to do.
On Pierre Lees-Melou's role...
I think he can play anywhere in midfield. He can play six, eight and ten. We wanted to go with a flatter three on Wednesday night, we felt that would help us more.
I felt that our midfield four were being played through too easily against West Ham, so we wanted to get an extra body in there and make sure they didn't play through us as much, and I thought we did that well for long periods until the goal. I felt Pierre would be the one in the middle of that.
He's a good, technical player. He's played in a two at times and done well. He knows what's required of him. He's not a kid, he's 28 years old, understands the game and knows what his limitations are. He's a good footballer.
On Lukas Rupp's contract...
I don't think our sporting director has sat down with Lukas yet.
On players motivating themselves to go back to the Championship...
If it's in their subconscious, we'll get it out of there, that's for sure. We've got two games to finish the Premier League season and then we're a Championship club again. We have to get around that very quickly.
The dressing room has good people. They hurt with what's happened. There's no-one who hasn't given anything that they couldn't give. We've just been short in areas in this league at this level. They're good enough to get back, that's for sure.
I would've wanted this fight to stay in the Premier League to go on as long as it could. It hasn't, but it gives us that advantage then of knowing where we are next season and looking for what we need to do and plan a little bit earlier, which is what we've been doing.
We haven't had an awful lot of time over the last two years. It feels like it's been constant because there's not much of a break in between the seasons at all. There's been a lot of continuous football for a long period.
We've got a lot of internationals at the club who are going to have to go and play international football in the summer, then we've got a World Cup coming up in the winter as well, so it's a short break again. It probably won't be until next season come May that we actually get a proper break that's needed.
On the World Cup in winter...
It's going to be interesting to see how we cope. We've got a plan in place already because the EFL will be off for four weeks, so we've planned that the players will get the first ten days off and then we'll go to a training camp and probably have a game before we come back. Thankfully, the decision makers who decide on the World Cup aren't in charge anymore.
On the busy Championship schedule...
What's really good for me now is that we've got a pre-season to work with the players because that's where you get the majority of your tactical and physical work in. We'll be working on four points in terms of our style of play and what we're looking for and we can get that drummed into them during pre-season.
On sharing his own experiences with players...
I never played at this level, so I can't talk to the players about that. It was a lot easier when I had John Terry next to me and he could tell them that, but mine is more about my experiences as a coach and giving them best practice, watching the best teams and the best players and what they do.
