Dean Smith has called on his Norwich City side to limit their mistakes when they visit Anfield to take on Liverpool this weekend.
The Canaries faced an equally difficult task last week when reigning Premier League champions Manchester City visited Carrow Road, but City were well in the match after a close opening 45 minutes.
However, defensive errors after the interval saw the game eventually end 4-0 in favour of the visitors, and Dean is keen for his team to eradicate those errors this weekend.
"We knew Manchester City and Liverpool were going to be two really tough games for us" Dean observed at his pre-match press conference.
"We reviewed the Manchester City game and there were a lot of mistakes made.
"I was disappointed with the manner of the goals we conceded. We have to limit those mistakes now.
"All the goals we conceded were preventable. That's something we have to do against Liverpool, limit our mistakes.
"They've got quality all over the pitch and that's why both teams are the top teams in the world.
"They (Liverpool) are very difficult to stop but we approach the game as another opportunity. City was an opportunity and at 1-0 at half-time, we thought we were in the game.
"Unfortunately we gave them a sloppy second goal and you can't afford to do that at this level against this quality of opposition.
"We know we can go and give them a match, we know we've got the quality to cause them problems. But we certainly have to limit our mistakes."
Liverpool were in action in the Champions League during the week and Dean gave his observations on what he saw:
"I watched Liverpool during the week, along with my coaching staff. It was a really good game to watch and they found a way to win.
"They've certainly got a will to win at the football club. They got a really good result."
With City approaching a crucial period in their season, Dean reaffirmed that they're under no illusions just how important every match is.
"People talked before Manchester City and Liverpool saying we had a free hit. We haven't got any free hits, there's only 14 games to go.
"Every game is a big game for us and an opportunity to go and get some points. What's important for us is after 38 games, we are out of that bottom three.
"I firmly believe we're capable and have the quality to do that."
