Dean Smith spoke to CanariesTV following Tuesday night's loss at Burnley.
"We're really disappointed to lose the game. We had to show a different side of our game today, because we got out-footballed in the first 30 minutes.
"They passed and moved really well, and we aided it. When we won it, we gave the ball back. That was disappointing.
"We had to sort our pressing shape out, because they were playing through us a little bit too much. We flattened off in midfield, and decided to let their centre-halves have it. We took a few punches in the first half.
"We started the second half better than the first half. Todd had a big chance, and we were defending very well. Didn't have enough of the ball as we usually would like, or create as many chances as I'd like. But I didn't see them scoring with the ball they had.
"There's mitigating circumstances today, I'm not one who makes excuses but I'm really proud of Sam McCallum, who only had one day training, and I thought he was excellent. Jon Tomkinson, making his league debut, I thought he was excellent.
"We ended up with Liam Gibbs at right-back, so it was a little bit of a make-shift back four there. They all worked hard for the team. That's what you need sometimes, and things are going against us at the moment.
"We knew before we travelled that Ben and Dimi would miss out. I don't know how long Ben will be out for. Dimi travelled but his ribs were too sore."
