Dean Smith reacts to draw against Sheffield United

Head coach Dean Smith admitted he was disappointed with a single point after leading Sheffield United 2-0 at Bramall Lane in the Sky Bet Championship.

Teemu Pukki's double had Norwich City in the lead but the hosts would peg them back midway through the second half.

"Performance-wise for 65 minutes, really good. We stuck to our gameplan. We wanted to draw them on to us a little bit and use the spaces that they leave," Smith said.

"Teemu's done brilliant to get a couple of goals and in all honesty, we should have got a couple more from the counter-attacks that we had.

"I thought we definitely should have had a penalty at 2-0, on the counter again. Sarge has made a run down the middle and the lad's clipped him. It's touch and go maybe whether he's inside the box but it's certainly a foul and a red card then.

"Disappointed that we couldn't see out the game but pleased that we've stopped the rot of results."

Outside of the result, the head coach was pleased to see both Isaac Hayden and Dimi Giannoulis involved from the start after injury lay-offs with both lasting over an hour.

He also provided an update on Gabriel Sara who was withdrawn with illness this morning.

"Gabby dropped out this morning with illness and we were a little bit short on numbers," Smith added.

"I felt it was right for both of them (Hayden and Giannoulis) to come into this game, a needs must. Both got through the game really well which is really pleasing for us."
