An attendance of 7,585 turned out at Carrow Road to watch Norwich City Women defeat Ashford Town 5-3 in their final home game of the season.
And they were treated to a first half packed with goals, seven of the eight coming in the opening 45 minutes.
Alice Parker picked up two in a player of the match performance while Freya Symonds and Natasha Snelling also got in on the act.
The opening 10 minutes of the contest was a frantic one, giving the supporters four goals. It started when a teasing delivery from Parker was just out of reach of Snelling but also beat Sophie Shults in the Ashford goal in the fourth minute.
The visitors did hit back within a couple of minutes through Anya Kinnane but Symonds quickly restored the advantage.
She ghosted in at the back post to finish and the goal was given following a brief discussion between the referee and his assistant who had initially raised his flag.
But again, Kinnane levelled it inside a couple of minutes, her header squeezing through the grasp of Bryony Williams.
When the action settled a bit, the midfield battle saw Eloise Morran and Aimee Durn cover a lot of ground.
The next opportunity to present itself was to Mary Croft - her header just off target. It was quickly forgotten about when Parker picked out Snelling at the back post to make it 3-2 in the 24th minute.
An enthralling first half continued with a penalty for Ashford that was excellently stopped by Williams in the Norwich goal.
Symonds almost had her second in added time, stepping inside wonderfully and rifling her effort off the crossbar.
There was time for more first-half drama with Parker scoring a second from distance before Durn pulled one back.
The second half didn't have quite the same opening 10 minutes as the first, with substitutions on either team taking time to settle into the tie.
Williams was on hand to make a couple of comfortable saves while the Canaries took control of the game.
Megan Todd had a chance to extend the lead with 15 minutes remaining but her effort was just over.
Williams made a clever save to deny Kayleigh Currivan at her near post as the clock moved into the final 10 minutes. The resulting corner was met with some excellent last-ditch defending, Ceri Flye getting in the way of one of three attempts.
Todd would then have the final say when she spectacularly finished to the roof of the net after being picked out by Ellie Smith on the counter-attack.
