Ellie Bishop signs for Norwich City Women

Norwich City Women are pleased to announce the signing of Ellie Bishop from Watford Women.

The defender makes a return to the Canaries after being part of the 2021/22 squad and earning the title of Young Player of the Season.

Bishop played one season for the senior team, making her breakthrough into women's football at age 16, having joined the Foundation's Player Pathway system at age nine.

During the 2022/23 season she made the move to Tottenham Hotspur Academy where she played for two seasons in the WSL Academy.

Earlier this summer she joined the Hornets as a right-sided defender in the Southern Premier Division.

On joining, she said: "It’s a great feeling being back in my hometown and been great to catch up with some of the girls and staff that I knew previously. It will be a special feeling putting a Norwich shirt back on and I know my family will be delighted to watch me play in yellow and green again!

"I return with a lot more experience this time round, having learnt lots of valuable lessons on and off the pitch with Spurs and Watford, which have all helped to build resilience to understand the game better, but ultimately it’s shaped me into the player I am today."

Head of women's football, Flo Allen, added: "Ellie is a player that we have closely monitored since she departed the club and we are delighted to be welcoming her back into our environment.

"She has high potential and we believe that our environment will continue to aid and support her development.

"With experience of both professional and elite environments through her time at Tottenham Hotspur and Watford, Ellie will bring added experience to the group as we continue to build momentum this season."
