England Women will face Spain at Carrow Road in February 2022 as part of a brand new four-team invitational tournament.
The invitational tournament, featuring England, Germany, Spain and Canada, will act as important preparation ahead of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 competition.
Matchday two of the four-team invitational tournament will see two fixtures take place at Carrow Road on Sunday, February 20.
The Lionesses will face Spain before Canada’s game against Germany then follows. Kick-off times will be confirmed in due course.
The round robin tournament will also feature matchdays at Middlesbrough (February 17) and Wolverhampton (February 23).
The Lionesses have had plenty of success in recent years, finishing third in the 2015 FIFA World Cup, reaching the semi-finals of the 2017 UEFA European Championship and winning the 2019 SheBelieves Cup.
Baroness Sue Campbell, Director of Women’s Football at The FA, said: “This exciting new addition to the international calendar promises to further accelerate the rapid growth we are already seeing in women’s football.
“Giving England fans the opportunity to see their team take on some of the best opposition in the world on an annual basis will create substantial interest, leading to a broader fanbase and strengthening grassroots participation. It will also provide the England team with the best preparation heading into the major tournaments over the next four years.
“Pitch International is a world-leader in organising events, has a superb track-record in women’s football, and is perfectly placed to lead the delivery of this new tournament.”
Tickets for all three England fixtures will be available to purchase in early December via www.TheFA.com/tickets.
