Norwich City Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Evie Williams from Ipswich Town.

The centre-back joins as a free agent after being released at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Williams, 18, was born in Gorleston and played in the Community Sports Foundation's Player Pathway system for seven years, joining at age eight.

She joined the Tier 3 side in 2022, playing all but two fixtures in the 2023/24 season and scoring one goal.

She was also part of the Ipswich side that visited Carrow Road in August last year in the FAWNL League Cup competition.

Joining the club, Williams said: "I’m excited to get started. It’ll be a long season ahead but hopefully it will end in a lot of success.

"From what I already know about the girls, from what I know about Andy and Flo, we’re just going to thrive together."

On the new signing, Flo Allen, head of women’s football, said: "Evie is a player who we have been monitoring for a while; she was a key recruitment target for us this summer and we are delighted that she has agreed to join us.

"Whilst still relatively young, Evie will bring valuable experience to our side, having been an integral part of Ipswich’s promotion winning squad last season."
