Get to know our latest signing, goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw, who joins us from Plymouth Argyle.
Born in Salford in 1998, Grimshaw played for his boyhood club Manchester City at academy level.
He signed his first professional contract for City in 2018 and went on to make a name for himself in Premier League 2, eventually getting a call-up to the first-team matchday squad in a Carabao Cup tie against Burton Albion.
In January 2020, he joined National League South side Hemel Hempstead on loan for the remainder of the season, making seven appearances.
Grimshaw then made another loan move to Belgian side Lommel SK, making 10 appearances in the Challenger Pro League during the 2020/21 season.
Leaving his Manchester beginnings behind, Grimshaw signed a permanent two-year deal for League One team Blackpool in the summer of 2021.
He impressed the Seasiders in his first season when stepping in for the injured Chris Maxwell on numerous occasions, battling it out for the number one spot.
After extending his contract with Blackpool at the start of the 2023/24 campaign, his position as first-choice goalkeeper was solidified and he would play every game but one in the campaign, amassing 18 clean sheets.
Catching the attention of Championship side Plymouth Argyle, Grimshaw joined Wayne Rooney's Pilgrims at the end of the summer transfer window in 2024.
He made 21 appearances for Argyle in the 2024/25 campaign.
