Borja Sainz has joined Norwich City ahead of the 2023/24 season, after departing Turkish side Giresunspor.
Born in Leioa, Sainz began his career at local side Lagun Artea, before moving to Athletic Bilbao. He spent five years at the club, later heading to Deportivo Alavés.
He progressed into the club's reserve side, and made 24 league appearances for Alavés B in both the Tercera División and Segunda División B.
The 22-year-old made his first-team debut in La Liga against RCD Espanyol in August 2019, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to play for the club.
Sainz went on to feature 40 times in the Spanish top flight, and spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Real Zaragoza.
He featured 32 times in LaLiga SmartBank as Zaragoza finished 10th, netting three times. The attacker left Alavés permanently in the summer of 2022, moving to Turkey to sign for Giresunspor.
The 2022/23 Süper Lig season saw Sainz register nine goals and four assists for the club, but the side would suffer relegation to the second tier.
